1. Square Crypto hires bitcoin developer Matt Corallo

Square Crypto, a division of fintech start-up Square founded by Jack Dorsey, focused exclusively on bitcoin development, recently announced the hiring of bitcoin developer Matt Corallo.

According to Square Crypto "Matt will play a vital role at Square Crypto, much as he did at Chaincode Labs, providing valuable experience of Bitcoin engineering within the team and broader ecosystem of new devs,".

Square Crypto was launched by Jack Dorsey with a view to accelerate the worldwide adoption of bitcoin by improving the end user experience.

By hiring experienced bitcoin developer Matt Corallo, Square Crypto is taking another big step towards achieving its mission.

2. Gemini expands activities to Australia

Gemini, the New York based cryptocurrency exchange founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, recently announced that they have become operational in Australia.

 According to a company statement:

"Today, we are excited to announce that Gemini is now open to customers in Australia! Australians can now download the Gemini Mobile App and use it to buy, sell, and store cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, bitcoin cash, ether, zcash, and litecoin."

By doing so the company want to help encourage broader adoption for crypto in Australia.
